Liminal Places x Dzejas dienas

Liminal places are a transitional threshold for something new, but not quite yet. One is on the move, always changing and going in new directions. Very often is on the verge of transition but have yet to reach this new place, resulting in a person having a choice, to stay where they are or to reach new and unprecedented places. Often this choice is influenced by the people and events encountered.

“Liminal places” will happen on 8 September, on M/Darbnīca terrace, the event starts at 19.00. Poets who will take part n poetry readings - Paula Lūcija Lejiņa, Alise Bogdanova, Emīlija Vilkārse, Māra Ulme, Inga Pizāne, Ilmārs Šlāpins.

“Poetry disco”

The concept of the Poetry Disco was born in September 2018, during the yearly poetry reading "Dzejas dienas", when "Mākslai vajag telpu" organised an event called "Poetry needs sound". After that, the online magazine "Satori" named the event "Poetry Disco" and introduced it as a tradition every year during "Dzejas dienas".

M/Gallery, in cooperation with students of the Latvian Academy of Art, has taken over the “Poetry Disco” event and as part of Dzejas dienas, it will already take place for the fourth time in M/Gallery. Surrounded by Egor Buimister's artworks, young poets will read their poems and play their favourite Disco songs.

‘Poetry disco” will happen on 8 September, in M/Gallery, the event starts at 21.00. Anyone interested is invited to join, no need to sign up before the event.
