M/Gallery is a contemporary art gallery hosted on the first floor of the cultural centre M/Darbnīca. In the last year, working together with Latvian artists, M/Gallery has hosted 9 solo exhibitions, 2 group shows, 2 TRIP TO art & music synergy events, and 1 site-specific immersive theatre night (with INSIGHT). In addition to that, our curator Elena Šalina created Riga Last Thursdays, the first monthly gallery evening in Riga.

At the moment, we are very happy to be hosting one of Riga Photomonth’s exhibitions, “Red Velvet” by Anna Dzērve, a contemporary Latvian photographer working with nude photography. “Red Velvet” exhibition is Anna's story about trauma, anxiety, and the author's conflicting feelings, which she literally projects onto the naked bodies.

On our anniversary party, which also happens to be the closing day of the exhibition, we will be hosting a live art auction, where you will get a chance to bid for the wonderful artworks exhibited on our premises (with prices starting at a very agreeable level). This will be a chance to join an exciting event and celebrate and support our local artists. Don’t miss it!

Later in the evening, we will be joined by Leonard Lehmann, a pianist and composer from Berlin, who composes neoclassical piano music. He invites us to follow on an intimate journey and a sonic exploration. At the concert, Leonard will play a selection of his own compositions, as well as a flowing beautiful improvisation.

After midnight, the stage will be taken over by Cosmic Connection, Dub/Ambient techno-influenced music producers. Cosmic Connection is a two-man group that plays improvised, hardware-based live sets. Their immersive sound fields will be a musical experience for people to journey in.
